چکیده

In this paper we address the H∞ control analysis, the output feedback stabilization, and the output feedback H∞ control synthesis problems for state-space symmetric systems. Using a particular solution of the Bounded Real Lemma for an open-loop symmetric system we obtain an explicit expression to compute the H∞ norm of the system. For the output feedback stabilization problem we obtain an explicit parametrization of all asymptotically stabilizing control gains of state-space symmetric systems. For the H∞ control synthesis problem we derive an explicit expression for the optimally achievable closed-loop H∞ norm and the optimal control gains. Extension to robust and positive real control of such systems are also examined. These results are obtained from the linear matrix inequality formulations of the stabilization and the H∞ control synthesis problems using simple matrix algebraic tools. c © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Explicit Solutions for Stabilization and H∞ Control of Time-Delayed State-Space Symmetric Systems

The paper examines the stabilization and the H∞ norm performance analysis and control of state-delayed systems with a symmetric state-space realization. Such symmetric realizations appear in many engineering applications. By exploiting the state-space symmetry, we obtain an explicit solution for a bound on the H∞ norm of such symmetric time-delayed systems. Also, we derive an explicit parametri...

The Tail Mean-Variance Model and Extended Efficient Frontier

In portfolio theory, it is well-known that the distributions of stock returns often have non-Gaussian characteristics. Therefore, we need non-symmetric distributions for modeling and accurate analysis of actuarial data. For this purpose and optimal portfolio selection, we use the Tail Mean-Variance (TMV) model, which focuses on the rare risks but high losses and usually happens in the tail of r...

Global Stabilization of Attitude Dynamics: SDRE-based Control Laws

The State-Dependant Riccati Equation method has been frequently used to design suboptimal controllers applied to nonlinear dynamic systems. Different methods for local stability analysis of SDRE controlled systems of order greater than two such as the attitude dynamics of a general rigid body have been extended in literature; however, it is still difficult to show global stability properties of...

Design of Observer-based H∞ Controller for Robust Stabilization of Networked Systems Using Switched Lyapunov Functions

In this paper, H∞ controller is synthesized for networked systems subject to random transmission delays with known upper bound and different occurrence probabilities in the both of feedback (sensor to controller) and forward (controller to actuator) channels. A remote observer is employed to improve the performance of the system by computing non-delayed estimates of the sates. The closed-loop s...
